Protection from Hedrin

Since being back at school in September my little one has come home with 3 or 4 letters in regards to the dreaded head lice going around, which i have been lucky to avoid so far, but to make things easier a great new product from Hedrin called Hedrin Protect and Go.

As far as head lice treatments go Hedrin are number one in the UK, with a range of lice treatments on offer. Hedrin Protect and Go has been clinically proven as a head lice protection and also a conditioning spray, it is gentle enough to be used on small children from 6 months as well as being used daily on wet or dry hair with no need to wash out.

I was pleasantly surprised by the fragrance it wasn’t an unpleasant strong smell that you get with many other Lice treatments but was in fact very pleasant and fruity scent comprising of orange and mango.

This product is available from most chemists and priced very well especially as you can use it daily. It costs approximately £4.30 for a 120ml bottle prices may vary.

Also available on the Hedrin website is info on treating and preventing lice which can be found here.

Less waffle at the table with McCain.

McCain-Logo

A good business comes from good ethics which is the philosophy of the McCain brothers the founders of the famous McCain brand. They carry this theory through all aspects of their life from their products, the customers and the farmers they work with. As well as taking care of the business they are also out there with the community and environment.

The McCain family values include a positive can do attitude, strive for excellence in all they do, work hard everyday to ensure smiles on the faces of their customers and consumers but to top it off they take pride in being a family business.

Just before Christmas i was sent a couple of packets of McCain Waffles. I am not normally a fan of things like waffles but these were really nice. The kids and I ate them regularly for the duration of the packets (2 x pkt of 8). They were full of potato not hollow like some products of a similar kind.

They are so quick to cook and go with all sorts, beans, spaghetti, fried egg, on their own with lashings of butter or even as a part of a Sunday fry up, which was a favourite of ours. I will definitely be purchasing these in the future

waffles McCain are available from all leading supermarkets eg Tesco, Check out the range of products McCain have to offer here.

I received a bunch called Joyful Wishes from their Christmas Collection and they were absolutely stunning, this bouquet consists of a red Germini surrounded by deep red single and spray Carnations, long lasting Anastasia, Santini and Euro Chrysanthemums and Pittosporum leaf greenery and to add to the festiveness 3 gold baubles were included. There were lots f red and green colours and the gold made them very Christmassy you also get care instructions and food for the flowers to put in the the vase before the flowers.

Boost Morale

A few years ago when my marriage ended i wanted to do something to take my mind off things, as i was alone in a country with no family(i had some good friends but as with everyone they had their own things going on too). So i signed up for adopt a US soldier…you have to register on the site to which your details have to be verified and then you get info on your given soldier which takes about 2-3 days. After a couple of days i received my soldiers details i wrote but didn’t get a reply so it was kind of a none starter which at that time looking back was probably a good thing in long run as i had a lot of changes and stuff happening.

Anyway recently a friend of mine said she wanted to write to someone in the forces so i told her about the adopt a US soldier and she now has her soldier to converse/correspond with, which prompted me to try again which i have done and upon checking my email this morning i have details of my soldier and have sent my first email.

I think this kind of thing is a great idea for all the guys a girls out there who spend alot of time away from their families and loved ones especially at this time of year.

If you are interested in doing the same check out their website here.

Warm up with Glorious Soup

about_image_600_400

Glorious are passionate about the flavours of their soups and dips, they have a very authentic and unique tastes from many different countries, they come in fresh and funky containers (thus not needing to put into a different container after opening like with cans). The product are free from flavour enhancers nor do they contain artificial colours and comply with the  FSA 2012 salt guidelines.

There are a lot of unique flavours in the range which can be found here on their website.

I was sent some vouchers to purchase some for myself to try and review. I chose  New England Butternut Squash and Fragrant Thai Carrot.

The Butternut one i chose for Mr 6 as he likes pumpkin soup but have been unable to find any in the supermarket for him and thought this would suffice and although had a bit of spice to it which i didn’t expect but was pleasantly suprised as it wasn’t overly spicy and Mr 6 and I enjoyed it very much.  The colours and flavours coincide well for this time of year.

The 2nd one i tried was Fragrant Thai Carrot which when you first open it and taste it you can smell and taste the coconut along with   carrot, lemongrass, ginger, lime and coriander, very flavoursome with a kick i enjoyed this one very warming which is what is needed on these dark cold evenings.

Black Farmer Breakfast Pack

logo

The founder of The Black Farmer range Wilfred Emmanuel – Jones can be found on his farm high up on the hills of the Devon & Cornwall border.

It was after many years of travelling Wilfred would return to the UK  yearning  like many men for a full English breakfast, but some realised the poor quality of such produce we see all the time in our supermarkets.  He went on to develop a sausage with higher meat content and uses 100% British pork in his sausages which are also made with soya flour thus creating a lighter sausage so that everyone including those with allergies could enjoy a good ole British Sausage.

He also produces free range eggs, bacon, chicken and cheese to find out more check out his website on the link above.

We were sent a breakfast pack which contained 6 free range eggs, 6 gluten free pork sausages and dry cured hickory smoked back bacon. I must say i was dubious about trying the gluten free sausages but i was certainly pleasantly suprised they were delicious, as were the eggs and bacon. You can cook them in the usual ways grill fry barbecue, i did mine in my George Foreman (as i do for all things similar)and i was pleased to see there wasn’t a lot of fat from them and the bacon did not shrink unlike some you can buy. Both sausages and bacon were very flavorsome.

Tetley Tea

Gaffer_Pointing

Drinking tea is iconically known as a British thing to do/drink.  I for one am predominantly a tea drinker like millions of other people in the UK.

tetley

It was in Yorkshire, England in 1837 that the Tetley brothers went in to business and in 1953 they first introduced the first teabag to the UK, by 1968 tea sales had risen to 5,000 tonnes a year, 1989 introduced the round teabag.  Tetley also have a range of green/fruit teas which were on out shelves by 2004. You can find out more here

For the endless cups of tea we all drink Tetley buy in over one million kilos of tea.

uk_sydney_gaffer_mug_imager

Tetley were kind enough to send us a box of their New Estate Collection for us to try and review free of charge, which was great as we drink a lot of tea and even more when my mum visits lol.

This collection has been hand picked at high altitude from the east of Kenya’s Great Rift Valley.

untitled

I am a lover of Tetley tea and i really enjoyed the taste  of the New Estate collection to me it was has a stronger flavour but still tasty all the same, and i do think i prefer this blend over the classic blend.
